The new Nuvi 500 series has been announced by Garmin two weeks ago. Designed as multi-use navigator, the series are also waterproof and ruggedized to make driver, cycler, walker, or boater happier. The Device comes with 3.5″ touchscreen, removable li-ion battery, and a micro-SD card slot.

The nuvi 500 comes with pre-loaded City Navigator and topo maps of the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The 550 offers highway coverage of the entire U.S. and Canada but drops the topo maps.
