I don’t know if the new electronic map software made by XROAD will be better than Google Maps, but I think they target different market. Designed for both iPod and iPhone, the map will cover North America and Canada.
The electronic map allows iPod or iPhone users to search their destination. Especially, iPhone provides information about the current location via a built-in GPS module. According to the company, they expects to develop the map for Europe and Asia and the Middle East in the future.

Manufactured by Exaktime, the PocketClock/GPS is a portable time and attendance tracking system. Using GPS technology, this software automatically record your worker’ location when they clock in and out. Unlike Time Cards, the PocketClock/GPS is more accurate for moving workers.
How does PocketClock/GPS work?
Your crews travel with a GPS-capable Windows Mobile PDA(1) loaded with PocketClock/GPS software. Using their individual PIN code, each worker can clock in and out and assign cost codes with just a few taps. PocketClock/GPS also enables Supervisors/Foremen to clock in for entire crews, saving time and further increasing accuracy. Whenever this happens, the PocketClock/GPS also records the GPS location – so you know that the clock in/clock out was done while the employee was on site.

As mentioned by LinuxDevices.com, Garmin Nuvi 8xx and 5xxx series runs on Linux operating system and powered by Marvell PXA-3xx processor. The source code of the mentioned Linux has been posted by Garmin.
The Linux-based Nuvi 860 and 880 appear to be identical except for the latter’s addition of MSN Direct traffic reports. The 850 model, which lacks the Bluetooth-based hands-free operation available in the 860 and 880, also appears to incorporate Linux.

Google introduced voice search on the Google Maps for some BlackBerry devices such as Pearl 8110, 8120, and 8130. This features allows users to locate businesses location by voice command instead of text command, but it works in the U.S. only.
Using your voice to search for businesses is super useful in situations when you can’t type, when the name of the business is long, or when you’re not sure how to spell it. In other situations — when you’re in a library or a rock concert, for example — typing makes more sense. Keeping that in mind, we designed this feature to allow you to choose whether to speak or type. Get it now on your BlackBerry Pearl by visiting http://m.google.com/maps on your mobile phone, or learn more here.
